Punto Banco Tableau

What is a Punto Banco Tableau? A Punto Banco Tableau is a table of rules in playing Punto Banco baccarat listing the circumstances when a third card should be drawn.

Punto Banco baccarat is a variant of the card game baccarat. Baccarat is a game of chance that was first played in Italy during the middle ages. It then spread to different parts of the world. Because of the different people that played baccarat the game evolved and formed its different variants. The game of Punto Banco baccarat is a baccarat variant that came from Cuba. Punto Banco baccarat's rules are very similar with the American baccarat.

Punto Banco baccarat is played by betting on either the banker's hand called banco, the player's hand or punto or a tie called egalite. A Punto Banco baccarat's hand wins if its total card value is greater than the opponent's.

The royalty cards (i.e. king, queen and jack) get 0 points in Punto Banco baccarat. Aces are valued at 1 and all the others are taken as it is. If the sum exceeds nine then you disregard the first digit.

The objective of Punto Banco baccarat is to get as close to nine as possible. The croupier gives both the punto and the banco two cards. They are then added to get the initial card value. In drawing a third card, Punto Banco baccarat is governed by the Punto Banco Tableau.

The Punto Banco Tableau says that if either punto or banco has a total point value of 8 or 9 in the initial two cards then neither one of them gets a third card. If punto gets an initial total point value of 6 or 7 he passes but if the banco has a hand value of 0 to 5, he gets a third card. If punto gets a total point value from 0 to 5 he gets a third card unless the banco has an 8 or a 9 total.

The banco passes if he has an initial 7 to 9 card total. If the banco has a 6 he passes only if punto passes. If punto gets a third card and it values either 7 or 8 then the banco gets a third card. If the punto total card value is from 4 to 7 and the banco only has 5 then he gets a third card.

Banco gets a third card if punto has a value from 2 to 7 and banco has 4. If banco has a 3 card total he gets a third card unless punto has an 8 or 9 or punto's third card is an 8. Banco definitely gets a third card if is two-card value equals 0 to 2 unless punto has an 8 or 9.

The Punto Banco Baccarat rules may sound complicated but its one of the simplest card games in a casino. Try it out for yourself and find out how fun it can be.
